How to put Turkish text in alphabetical order?

This resource is great for organizing any piece of writing. It can help students or teachers to easily look-up target vocabulary in a text. This app will also help if you want to look-up Turkish words a student is using, or find a word in a text a student is not familiar with. Just enter your Turkish text and then put it in alphabetical order.

The current Turkish alphabet is based on the (standard) Latin alphabet with symbols borrowed from various alphabets across Europe such as German, Swedish and Albanian. There are 29 characters in the Turkish alphabet, 21 consonants and 8 vowels. The Turkish alphabet was standardized in 1928 as part of reforms to the Turkish language.

Because the Turkish alphabet has more characters than the standard Latin so this app will sort the additional letters in the same way as letters without accents (so for example í will appear at the same place as i).

You can choose whether you want the results

  • In alphabetical (ABC) order.
  • Reverse alphabetical (ZYX) order.
  • Entries horizontally or vertically.

Vertical sorting will alphabetize the first word on each line and horizontal sorting will put the words on a line in alphabetical order. The output will show the sorted text with each word on a separate line.

Simply enter it into the text box and your text will be automatically sorted! Try it out now! We have lots of other learn Turkish resources including worksheet generators.
